Default 928 in Bismark ND. Can someone check it out for me?

I sold my beloved and mint 79 928 and miss it. I've been thinking of getting back in. I found another OB in Bismark, ND and was wondering if anyone is local to that area and can take a swing by and take some high res pictures and an honest assessment of the car.

It's a driver, but it has no sunroof or rub stripes and I'd be willing to restore it for fun if the bones are good.

Please PM me if anyone can help out.

That didn't take long, you couldn't make it a month without a 928! Good for you to decide to jump back in!

Ha ha ha. I sold it in April - so it's been it's been a little over half a year....Isn't that long enough?
But seriously - I must be crazy. IF I buy another one - it will be my 5th 928! I still have no place to put it but that hasn't stopped me before.

I just love those OB's! When I see a 928 without a sunroof and rub stripes I just get week in the knees. lol.

We understand your affliction.

Maybe the other person in Bismarck can look at it for you.

I've seen some pictures of that car. If you look closely at an engine bay picture, it appears that the original color may not be the current color. For me that car would be about a six hour drive. I'm not sure how many other 928 owners on the forum are likely to be much closer to the middle of ND.

And I share your affection for early cars without the rub strips or a sunroof. My current rescue is '79 5 speed in Mocca Braun with a Cork interior .. no rub strips but does have the sunroof. Once I have the car a bit further along I'll share some pictures. Right now there's a bit more work to do before the first real outing.

The white one with Pascha? Yes, seller said it's a repaint but not a color change. I really want a Pasha with no sunroof or rub stripes, but really don't want an automatic. I'm trying to convince myself to accept an automatic. My first 928 was auto and once I got a manual later on, I told myself I'd never get an auto again. That was 20 years ago. Pasha vs Auto. Decisions decisions.

Agreed, the decision is tough. You might want to verify the color from the VIN if possible, the engine bay looks to be either green or blue. Hard to tell from the pictures with the engine bay looking so dirty, but the support areas around the crossbar and radiator supports along with what's visible of the inner fenders does not appear to be white. It's always possible the car changed color before the current owner's possession. I suppose you could ask for additional pictures of specific areas on the car as well.

Pasha material is generally available if you were inclined to just have the inserts changed on a different car. I actually verified that before buying my rescue project; it has Pasha, but the interior will need to be completely restored.

I guess I could "convert" a 928 to Pasha but that would be @4k+ for front and rear seats and doors. Better to buy one that already is Pasha.
