Thinking of Switching to Automatic

The only real true answer is one of each. They are just different.
I would be miserable if I had to drive my manual in city traffic every day.
But the automatic can't even begin to match the manual on the back roads.
The auto is very tunable, and I have mine dialed in exactly how I like it.
(1st gear starts, slightly delayed upshifts, quick/easy downshifts, etc.)
I recently replaced the front shifter cup and rear coupler on my manual.
The shift feel is noticably improved. Basically feels like a new car again.
I hope to always be blessed with the ability to own both types...
