Default Help! Part No Longer Available

I am so counting on the fraternity here....

When I disassembled the mess that a previous owner (worse yet, his repair shop!) had made of the interior temp sensor, I found Part #33 (White plastic piece circled) in the diagram to be the reason why they 'puttied' the sensor (see photo) into the dash: it was trashed. Roger set me up with a new sensor, gasket and hose...but wouldn't you know that the part I really need is NLA? I am hoping that someone has one of these pieces lying about? Happy to pay whatever....

Thanks,
Bob

While I'm sure I can find one....I'd much rather have you call 928 International and ask Tom to send you one....it's what they do.....and it's very important to the 928 community to support these people.

Thanks, Greg. Quickly scoured all the sites, and the NLA seemed to be across the board. Thus, my impassioned post. I'll ring 928 International, but also hope that someone might have one. It's a silly $3 item...but needed.

You know I remember when replacing my headlight motor there was a piece that wrapped around the cylindrical shaped power connector harness of the motor - it had a tab on it so it could be screwed into the body. If you cut the tab off it may fit perfectly on the sensor neck so as to take up the 'space' to give a firm fit. Also some slight trimming may be involved, but if you have no other option it may work for you.
It is #46 and is part #944 612 450 01.
The piece snaps open and closed.

Actually, it looks like it may be the same piece.

Also a similar cylindrical clip is on the harness for the cooling flaps motor. It's part number ends in 00 unlike the headlight motor clip which ends in 01. Compare to the piece you need, and I think you'll be in luck. If I remember correctly the cooling flap cylindrical connector is slightly larger than the headlight motor connector, hence the different part number for those supporting clips.

#32, part #944 612 450 00

I, honestly, have no idea what I would have done this past year without Roger and his support both in availability of parts and insights. I undertook a very thorough mechanical refresh of my car from stem to stern, and I need to get around to posting photos/commentary.

thank you, Roger!

Were it not for Roger, this would have been a great solution. Thanks so much for the thoughts.
