Please correct me if I am wrong (and i am wrong quite frequently). Are you trying to match the rear blinker lens to the paint color of your red car ? How about if do not own a red car ? T

There are clear replacements for the amber sections. Jim Doerr at 928 Classics can get those. In theory, you could tint those in any color you like, using translucent paint.

Yes, have them up front on both the early and later cars. Maybe I should have been more clear (translucent ) thought we were talking rear lenses ? T

No, and yes. Idea was to change the amber lense to uniformly match the other red lenses. Goal accomplished, Amber Lamps deleted. ()

But don't most relate amber as turn, red as a stop, and white as reverse ? Seems like a safety issue T

Only while texting, Amber is ONLY allowed on the REAR as a turn signal, but may also be red.

let me clearify, Amber is allowed on the front. Amber is only allowed on the rear as a turn signal, or hazzard warning, but rear turn signals are not required to be amber.

This link may help confuse you. http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/regulations...section/393.11

I was referring to rear lenses. We had made clear replacements for the amber sections of the early style tail light lenses. You could then put amber LEDs underneath, for an amber turn signal light.

Or you could use a thin layer of red translucent paint, to match them to the other red sections.

It was just to give owners some additional options. But it never caught on. AFAIK, Jim can still order them, if anybody wants them. I think he even got a pair or two of these when I transferred the remaining inventory. Just ask him!
