Default Digital to analog clock

I am working on my 89 and am in the process of replacing my digital clock to a later analog clock.
I have searched rennlist and did not find any real write up.
I found this
http://cid-70d4844dc8c361fd.skydrive...SC%5E_0008.jpg

So I followed that wiring and the clock lights up when I turn the lights on, but does not work.
Anybody has experience in getting the clock repaired?

If you figure out a repair, clue me in on it. Or just let me send you some.

FWIW today, http://nhspeedometer.com/ offered to repair my analog clock in 2008 for $120-165 plus shipping. I would assume that they still repair these clocks.

I repaired mine as the problem was simple: it lost about one hour in every three because the tiny bead magnet that forms what I can only describe as the escapement motor was slipping on its shaft. I dismantled the clock and super glued the bead to the shaft. It has kept time accurately since then.

Geeze, hasn't anyone found a generic analogue clock that can be made to fit? I mean it's a clock - not exactly rocket science.

Bump for the james post! Why is there no generic? I would think there would even be some used ones laying around as the digital was more expensive technology when most of these were made.

There is another option, although it takes a bit of work. Here is the Rennlist link to THAT option, initiated by one of our UK friends: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...lcd-clock.html

You could paint the hands the reddish orange of the hands on the speedo/tach and only a person very knowledgable about Porsche 928s (probably everyone on THIS forum) would know the difference.

I actually purchased two of these used from a UK vendor (shipping costs per unit cheaper) a couple of years ago, planning to put one in the '89 S4 track car. BUT - I sold the car before one got installed. Anyone wanting to buy one for $60, including shipping within the US send me a PM. Earliest two PM's who pay are the buyers. I checked for function, and the clocks keep time - at least over a couple of hours.

Cheers, and keep up the replacement of digitals!!

Thanks for the heads up Gary! I looked into buying one across the pond a few months ago and it was going to cost more than $60 so I may take you up on that. It just blows my mind that a simple clock, ford, porsche, or otherwise, (not to mention one where you do most of the wiring yourself) costs so much for our cars! Is there any chance that the digital will become the new "retro" in the future? It would make my day for someone to say "wow I have never seen one of those in my life!" I.e. Anyone born in the 90s or later. And aren't those 2000s babies about to turn driving age?
