1985 what is this part ?
hello, I have a 1985 which has a broken part in the engine area which I only found out yesterday and was wondering where this wire is connected to. In the pictures below the wire connects to the part in the back of it, I need to know where the male connector in the back goes to and connects to what since the plastic part on this connector is broken and I will need to replace it. The part circled in green shows the front cable which connects to the part which is broken.
Can someone assist please.

I believe it goes to the TPS - separate harness

Thank you Scott, as you answered I was googling it and found out it was the sensor.
Roger do you sell the cable which goes from the sensor to the bracket so I can connect the other cable to it ? If so how much.

Thank you Roger, I guess it will be my winter project, remove the intake change the gaskets, cleanup. Also might do the spark plug wires and plugs at the same time. I might change the distributor caps also and the coil cables. We shall see what budget I have. WYAI
I will contact you later to get prices on all that from you.

FWIW if you have an original short TPS harness it will snap off when you go to remove the connector,
Yes this is similar to a Green wire, BUT a bit less expensive, but quite critical to uninterrupted operation.

You can replace that harness with out removing the entire top end. Tricky, pain, but doable. Now if you are going to do a top end refresh anyway? Go for it.
This was a part that I am glad to have pushed Roger and John to get produced.

Yes thank you everyone for your responses.
Yes Merlin, that is the problem exactly, the harness which goes from the TPS to the front of the engine and is attached to a bracket broke at the bracket. the other cable seems fine.
Hey Sean, thank you for getting that part redone, us people with older cars need them. LOL
I can't see how to change that harness without removing the intake, but i will check.
And yes Steve, someone will find that link of yours very useful.

its not too hard to remove the other end of the short harness you will need to remove the crossbar,
then us a long L pick to move the spring clip off the connector,
OR get some long needle nose pliers with curved fingers and grab the connector,
and give it a good tug and the connector should come off the TPS.
