Thinking to change interior color before sale (87 S4)

As other say, if its not selling or generating inquiries, the price is wrong.
Changing the interior colour just to sell the car is a bad idea - either you'll end up spending more than any change in value, or the quality of the interior will go down because of a shoddy dye job. The only time a colour change makes sense is if you want to keep the car and want a specific interior combo.
You'd be better off spending the money giving the car a good detail and taking some better pictures under good natural light.

[QUOTE=FRporscheman;11579780]My dad's had his '87 S4 for a few years now, and he goes through phases of wanting to sell it or keep it. It's black ext with burgundy interior. For some reason, we don't get any (serious) inquiries whenever we post it. So we concluded it must be the interior color, because with options like 220 and 474, 5-speed, low miles (90k), it can't really be anything else.
We have the opportunity to get an entire black interior for a fair price, in the hopes that a black/black car will sell more easily.
Question #1 for the 928 meisters here is, is it sacrilegious to change a "rare/special" car like this?
Question #2, does anyone here want a black/burdundy S4 before we change it?
Agree about the Red and a lot depends on what you can get for the current interior.

Thanks for all the input, guys.
Clearly our price was wrong all along - any car will sell if the price is right (or lower). I guess what I meant was, when my dad looks at the car and sees an $11k car, I look at it and see an $8k car. But despite him asking me to list it so high, I did try listing it at $8500 a few times, and still no bites.
TB/WP done 2 owners ago (maybe 10-20k miles ago), lots of minor work done by me (mostly electrical fixes).
From what I've learned here, the interior swap will net us about as much as the cost of the parts, get us more interest, and eat at least 2 weekends. Selling the burgundy interior might make up for all the labor time lost. In the end I'd say forget about it, but my dad is set... First I'll list it up for sale as-is, and see if RKD is right. If it doesn't sell in a few weeks, we'll swap interiors. I've already had some PMs about the car. Again, my dad is optimistic but also ready to move on, so I think $8k is good. I'll start another thread about it.

Yeah, one would think. OK, how about this. I'm going to take pictures of exactly how it is now, and start a new thread asking everyone what price we should ask for it. I might have time this weekend.
