Same for fuses. I clean out every fuse panel when at the pick-in-pull.

I figure if the wire I yank from a 15 year old BMW with 150k miles is still flexible and like new, it's good quality.
Agreed.
In all my searches ALL the wire was made in China when I delved into its origin.

Hacker: Like this?

It's an EV1 connector with a rubber weather seal.

Im seeing the value I guess, in without the long boot, it doesnt force a sharp turn of the wires before having to hide under the fuel rail.

Correct?

Hmm, cannot tell in that photo, but probably similar or close to what I have.

I've only bought connectors made by Tyco / AMP

To "seal off" the ends I use self vulcanizing tape (not to be confused with electrical tape) on the connector to the wire loom.
Once you get the hand of applying it, the end result looks good and can easily be removed if necessary.

I'd have to look up the ratings, but it's way better than the standard PVC stuff used on most wiring. Kynar insulation is alot thinner too for a given wire size and voltage rating.

Of course the color selection is nowhere as broad as what you can find for "standard" automotive wiring. Since the FI wiring (and the other stuff under the intake) is going to be at block heat or higher, I'm probably willing to forego the color issue for survival on the fuel rails. Guessing that exhaust heat migrates up especially when you shut down and fans are off. No telling how hot things get.

Thanks again doc.
I wouldn't just rely on the Kynar insulation for the conductor's protection, but any improvement over the standard stuff would be an improvement. I have the perfect fiberglass/rubber tubing for the protection.

And to top it all off, use weather seals around the wires.
