I used to spend snowy (and rainy) nights in the deserted parking lot in my hometown (I was 17) spinning out, doing donuts, e-braking, etc. in various cars. It was pure fun at the time, but also taught me how to control skids and DIY car control. Not enough people know how to properly drive/control a car. It's frightening to me, as I spend a lot of time driving...

For me it's more of an instinctive reaction, more to save damaging the car rather than thinking of my safety. I've quickly swerved to avoid Tractor trailer tire blow-outs, deer, bears and many other critters. Knowing the handling threshold of your 928 is vital which only comes from multiple track days and practice doing autocross. However,I will not intentionally swerve to miss a penguin or unicorn.

I was driving the Tahoe on vacation this week, which handles with the grace of an old stagecoach, down a pass in Flaming Gorge Nat. Park.
As if he had made a tiny little pact with death, I see a small rodentia running full speed from my left into the road, with absolute perfect timing to be in front of my drivers front tire...
in veterinary terms, it was his time.

Ha!
It's likely the mouse would agree.
You know, now that we are officially off topic, I do have to put animals back together after Hit By Car events up at the clinic.
Sometimes it's like a bomb went off, and then there's this sub-set where the dog has been bounced off or run over by a car and it does not even have a scratch on it. I had this one come in with literally--all season tire tracks over it's chest and was eating treats in the exam room. Very strange.
