Nice 88 until you check out the drivers seat bolster

Anyone else agree that is a LOT of wear for a low mileage car?:

Yes, the wear on the bolster looks just a little excessive, but the engine looks like a low mileage car. Maybe a lot of people sat in the car when it was in the collection. But it was not driven. Nice car.
Coolant changes??

Wow, that is exactly how my car used to look inside and out. Twins.

My gray seats looked like this. It was from the seatbelt wearing on it. The rest of the seats look low mileage. I would guess that this is just from the belt rubbing on the light color dye...

Humm - seat looks more like about 80K I think...
Rest of it looks fine. seems you'd need to be doing huge amount of short trips - lots of in and out to do that in 33K..!
Or wear sandpaper jeans maybe
Maybe the light color just shows it much more...

The rest of the seat looks good, so I assume that the colour shows it more, the driver was a shape that wore it more and many, shorter trips. The shorter trips aren't good for warming-up the engine. It does look very nice other than the bolster though.

In addition to bolster wear, I look at the pleats - low mile cars typically have deep U-shaped pleats. Higher mileage cars and ones that haven't been cared for will have leather shrinkage and the pleats can become quite shallow and flat. These particular seats look pretty good except for the bolster wear. A touch-up kit from Leather Magic would make the leather look like new, not sure about the piping.

I agree on the leather color - silver grey, as that's what I previously had in my '94. Yes, that light color is prone to show wear. Dye from ColorPlus will take care of both the bolster and the piping. IF color matched well, and application done carefully, it will not be noticeable (done it several times to my bolster over the past 6 years).

The engine appears to represent this as a low mileage car. Usually, the silver paint is flaking off and the zinc coating is very corroded on higher mileage cars. The pictures are rather crapy but how does the front noise of the car look?

That's mean...but I was thinking similar. Or wears jeans all the time.
Why can't people drop their asses into the seat and not onto the bolster?
Assume for a moment that the mileage is false and there has been a lot of cosmetic work. Wouldn't that bolster have been re-dyed?
No smoking gun to me.
