Yep, watching the tube in my hotel. I. Just went to grab food and it seemed be driving at about 90%, if it was at about 60% at it's worse point.

-gas cap ok
-tank ok, not collapsed
-ignition wires are all in place
-very little vacuum going into the flappy solenoid
-possible hydrocarbon build up on bumper

I will give her a good once over the morning before I head home. It's only about 4 hours plus border time.

One thought, did this behavior start after the last fill up?
I had a similar problem, was water in the tank. Drained some in the WalMart parking lot, bought some Heet as a temp solution. Got me home, ran like crap until I drained the tank. I know yours was running fine as I was directly behind you on the fun run. Hope to see the videos posted.

Also, the tiny vacuum check valve could be plugged, restricted. Next to the brake booster.
Good luck tomorrow. Let us know.

My concern would be burning the car...

The most common problem seems to be a coil wire, usually the driver's side. As has already been said in this thread, if you drive the car on four cylinders, the cats will glow cherry red. This can and will set the car on fire.

I would suggest that you at least very carefully check both ends of both coil wires, and make certain that neither wire touches any metal or wire harness.

Maybe worth checking your intake to the air filter, see if it sucked in a plastic bag or a cheeseburger

^+1 Things fly in! I got a bird with my alternator fan on the BRP, Ron (AirtekHVAC) noticed it hanging under the car in the parking lot. I guess I need a belly pan...

Intake is clear, coil leads look fine. Hitting the road shortly.

We'll she was driving better, still a little bit of hesitation between 3 and 4 k, and still not pulling as hard as it did. But not as bad as it was when I first reported the issue yesterday.

But I just pulled her in the garage and the idle was hunting and the exhaust smelled extra rich.

I'm placing bets on the MAF for now. But I still need to check the ignition system, relays, find my vacuum leak etc.

But glad she is in the garage safe. Thanks for everyone's help.
