When I was cleaning the carpet today, I moved both seats to the max rear position. After cleaning and when I want to move the seats back to normal, they didn't move, all other functions (8 ways seat)are working fine but just can move forward/back. It happens to both of the seats at the same time.
The front motors of both seats are actually responding when I hit the button but the seats just don't move like it is stuck.
When I disconnected the left cable from the seat front motor, the motor spins freely but the seat has no movement. I had checked the rails and they are clear.
Since both the seats are in far rear position and it make the car not drivable as well because I am not 6 feet tall.
Really need some help. Appreciated.

Kevin,
Here are two posts from a thread I remember being part of. Hope it is helpful.

For your car an allen key through the hole in the plastic cover would be the manual adjustment, but because you went back to an extreme there are some things to do. See Dave's post - it is excellent.

Finally, I managed to free the stuck seats. Turn out that both seats have one seat motor driveshaft stuck and another driveshaft broken that why the front motor spins freely when I disconnected one driveshaft.
It happens in the same time. What a lucky day!
May I ask what is my option now? Can I purchase this driveshaft somewhere?
But the root problem is that something make the cable stuck. When I look under the seats, there are many broken white plastic pieces all over, I guess they are the rings for the long screw for the seat front and back movement.
Without these rings to keep the long screw in position, soon or later this problem will happen to me again even I change the driveshaft this time. Can I purchase these white rings somewhere also?

Here's a write-up I did a while back on replacing the disintegrated plastic bits on the fore/aft seat adjusters with nylon washers.

Someone else on the forum mentioned they were looking to have the plastic end pieces that support the adjuster screws reproduced in a modern polymer. I don't know if that has moved forward or not. I believe the driveshafts are available new from Porsche and are most likely available used from 928 Intl.
