I’ve been completely had. After reading thousands of threads on this site, I was convinced to refurbish my 928 with expensive OEM parts. All I really needed to do was make an intake out of some fiberglass, a shoe box lid, some toilet paper centers, few second hand thermostat housings, and a 200 CFM carburetor. Oh, I almost forgot the bucket of blue dyed J-B weld.

Toilet paper roll centers have a larger diameter than whatever he used, so that part's a miss.

Explains the small diameter primary pipes, if as I've understood 37mm valves flow more than 39mm valves in your neck of the woods. Maybe what you guys have there on the West Coast is something like the drain spiraling down counterclockwise in the southern hemisphere.

That may be one of the worst things I have ever seen that worked. And I am kind of a fan of ugly things that work.

This is what happens if you have "fac-simile" printed on your brain. Never seen somethingbad like that intake nonsense.

I can’t get this car out of my brain. I guess we’ve had our fun, but you have to admit (if you take the ad for face value) they made it work.

All of us afflicted with this car start out with some kind of dream of ownership. Some people’s realization of that dream may well be the stuff of nightmares for the remainder of us, but these folks made do with the resources they had. I can't fault them for that. As we all know, it takes knowledge, persistence, and $$$ to get these things back to a reliable configuration let alone a factory one.

After thinking about it, I have to give them an "A" for resourcefulness. Is the solution optimal in any practical or performance sense, hell no. Did it work? It seems it possibly did.

Good point ... it'd go like a bat out of hell here

Considering the laws of physics are reversed in Australia.

I think I would have gone with 2" black iron- that 3/4" just doesn't look right...

I bet it's a beast with torque or would it be horse power....?

He needs to remove two of the zeros from his asking price. The whole car is a mess and barely worth the parts.

Doubly so if you were an uninformed new owner.

Might be worth the price of purchase right there.
