Good thread on 993TT forum on this now. Higher prices but great read.

Hagerty - Love them!

I pay $300 a year for the 1974 Challenger (declared value $18K) and the 1986 928S (declared value $10K). Zero deductible, Hagerty Roadside assistance included. I think I declared 5K miles annually for the 928 and 3K miles annually for the Challenger but they never asked for odometer readings.

Hagerty rejected me at 5k miles per year. Had to be 3k or less. Maybe it's because it changed?

Hagerty rejected me, too at 5K miles. They also didn't like that my 15 year old on a learners permit has a 1987 924S already as they consider that too old for a licensed driver (he's not even licensed) in a household with a Classic Car.

They gave me some Bullshiz that because my car is a 90's model that my son needed to have a car manufactured in the last 10 years.

I've made it my personal mission to air this all out on twitter @Hagerty SUCKS!

If you qualify, USAA is the way to go. Very competitive rates and did not question any repairs on a recent pot hole strike.

Learn to self-insure, set your deductible at $500.

USAA co-ops with American Collectors. AC discounts USAA policy holders.
I have the GT insured with them for an agreed value of $30k. Better rate than any of the above mentioned.

Well after blasting them on Twitter @Hagerty called me back. Apologized for "THEIR" massive confusion and were very conciliatory about wanting me as a customer.

I'll be insured with Hagerty now. Decent rate, not the best, not the worst - $19.5K agreed value

American Collectors seemed like they had a GREAT rate but my Dad is with Hagerty on his non P-car collectibles and swears by them.

I just wanted to swear at them for the way I was treated but it's all good now!

State Farm (my regular passenger vehicle insurer) has quoted me a very low price for the 928 I'm going to be getting, and they are even going to allow me 8K miles/year, which should be way more than I need as this will only be a nice weather car. This is as a "Classic/Antique." They also do not seem to have a requirement that every licensed driver have their own daily driver, which is good as my daughter just turned 16 (and will NOT be driving the Shark!).
