I'm guessing the reverse Midas touch where everything he touches turns into ****. Give him a new car today and in one year it'll be scratched, dented, bumpers cracked and hanging along with a stained up bio-hazard interior.

It looks like a later model to me. Maybe an 86 as it has the rear third brake light and the steering wheel is also for a later model.
