Default Strange electrical problem

Finally drove the little redcar today, after its long winter storage. Everything went well till I got about five minutes from home. The turn signal indicator on the dash stopped working as did the high beam indicator. When I checked the turn signals they all lit up but do not flash and the high beams do come on. I have no idea where to start. Sadly electrics are not my thing

Flasher relay. They can cause all sorts of weird issues. The cost ~$15 at an autoparts store.

That would be the first thing I would check and replace because yours is probably original and worn out.

It was the flasher relay, all is working now. I spent more time at the parts store counter than I did installing the part, and @ 8.73 it may well be the cheapest repair I have ever completed.

Thanks

Enjoy these very rare occurrences! Glad that's all it was.

Relays cause the stupidest things. If you have an issue, change out the relay associated with that circuit and it will generally solve or at least narrow the problem.

The LH, EZF/EZK and fuel pump relays are all needed for the engine to run. If you have never replaced them, don't know the age or if they're 10 years old or older ... replace them all. Very inexpensive insurance to keep you on the road! No need to get the expensive combo relay with the fuse tester if one of those relays has that feature, blown fuses are easy to see or Ohm out if failed.
