Rather clever way to advertise and sell used parts.....which per the rules here you must at least be a member not a user and possibly a sponsor as you are doing this ONLY to make money, not that that is a bad thing...

I just thought you guys would enjoy seeing a car stripped to its bare bones the right way. I am not trying to sell parts here. if the mods want to delete this post that's fine with me. I did pm the one member about the engine but I don't want to sale it. I am a part hoarder. I have enough parts to build maybe 2 944s. enough to build 3 BMW e24's, 2 BMW e21's and of course 4 e30's. I am always buying parts cars. I very rarely sale parts because I love saving the cars I grew up loving. the cars I like are the most undervalued cars out there. the only way to make money or not end up with a ton of money wrapped up in them is to have a good supply of parts and to do the work yourself. there is no better training on working on cars than stripping one for parts and doing it like it was a driver not a parts car.

personally, I appreciate the effort being made. yes, it's a shame this car has experienced this major damage, but there are situations that warrant a car being dismantled - and this certainly warrants that. besides, I think it's the decision of the owner to do as he/she pleases, no?

looking forward to the progress -

Default Rear Hatch Seal

Cutter, can you post or send me pics of rear seal please? Also, is the whole seal soft and gooie? Or dried up and hard? The one I have for some reason looks like some one took a hammer to it and deformed it so have gaps all around it and the hatch, water and air leaks thru it if it rains or have it whistling while driving down highway. How much?
Thanks

I did make some progress this week end with the strip but had to pick up some other cars also and had to do some work on other projects

I will be checking all my connectors on the 86 because these just crumbled when I took them out of the holder

the insulation just crack on many of the wires just moving them and it surprised me how much corrosion was in them

I jack my on thread picked this up this weekend 1971 300sel 6.3

here's a couple of other projects I have going on. I like having multiple projects going on because it seems like I am always waiting on parts or the body shop or interior work
this is a Callaway built 635 from talking to Callaway they built this car in his garage in Ct behind his house it was 6th or 7th he ever built. I just about have all the parts for it.

this is a M5 just waiting for engine to come back from machine shop to be put back together

everyone needs some American iron 1965 Cadillac. I wanted to have a cruiser this summer. painted it and other things to her. waiting for the seats to come back and she will be ready to cruise

everyone also needs some British in their diet. Triumph Herald everything rebuilt under the skin just waiting to get her into the bodyshop

well I could not end without posting a picture of a 928 I just sold this car to my brother and it has to be see in person this car stands 10 foot tall and he loves it
