Yep. Just that one word sums up all of California's problems.
I should have put some cheapo wheels on my car, a larger exhaust and a Mexican flag in there prior to smogging it. I would have passed by them just looking at the car. And no, it's not racist to say that when I'm Mexican and I know how my culture is, especially when they work at the smog shop I just failed at.

How do all the Cali illegals pass smog if they can't show a license?
All of which is to say, I think you're using the wrong shop. There must be 'better' shops out there.
"it is known by the state of California that wood dust can cause cancer" ..... So many warning labels in the state.... The printing business must make bank

Dude, such judgmental language! Man, you're bringing down my vibe. If by "illegals" you mean our peace loving visitors and/or hard working newly permanent residents from the south, you need to understand that laws are merely a social construct designed to perpetuate the Man. As such, they don't apply to everyone equally because that would be unfair and unrighteous. The law needs to be applied in a manner that respects the culture of indigenous peoples who come here to stay from where they once were indigenous. It would be human rights violation of epic proportion -- one that would rank up there with slavery -- if our new friends had to follow each and every one of our laws. Forcing them to smog test their cars would be a perpetuation of rape culture. Everyone knows that.
Peace out.
Peace out.

Why that last sentence in the last paragraph may be the reason why all the politicians in California have brain damage...

Man, I could have used your quote today. It would have gotten me thrown out of the smog shop, but at least it would have been worth the good laugh, and shock and awe.

Careful, Mongo. That word, racist, may not mean what you think it does. Here's what the US Supreme Court had to say: "In order to get beyond racism, we must first take account of race. There is no other way. And in order to treat some persons equally, we must treat them differently (University of California v. Bakke, 1978)." Got that? "Racism" is something you "get beyond" by taking race into account in order to treat individuals differently. That's 180 degrees from what most of us think racism means. In such an Alice-in-Wonderland world, where words mean what I say they mean, why wouldn't it be possible for a Mexican to be called a racist? Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, after all, has been called a racist (and worse) by his detractors.

Three Wheelin'
Might be worth another try. You don't have to go back to that shop or even mention the test you already did if you go somewhere else. I usually look for the cheapest one thinking that at a low price they won't spend much time looking. Good Luck!

I think Arizonans out number Californians in San Diego in the month of August! As for driving, that is another downside to Arizona. The drivers here are worse than those in California. But, you don't need to worry about that. The influx of drivers I'm recruiting would be ex-Californians! They'll still know how to drive.
I live in Nevada, and the state has no idea what I do, or how much I make. Nevada has zero information to share with the IRS.
Arizona is beautiful, and I love visiting my SIL in Fountain Hills, but I would never move there.

This is what happens when people too Liberal to be human get into office.
The people in office don't think about how cars and electricity work, all they thing about is $$$ and image. Not logic and reason.
