I believe it was moved with the introduction of the pollen filter. Can't remember the source where I read it, but I seem to recall it was "too close" to the filter. Perhaps due to heat that might cause the filter to burn?

Cheers!

Yes that's why it was moved. Greg you are right 2.0 mm^2 for DEF all the way from CE and 2.0mm^2 from the resistor pack - though it is 2.5mm^2 all the way to the resistor pack from the blower switch.

2.0mm^2 is approximately 12 AWG (just a little less), this is good for quite a lot - up to about 25A certainly - with some voltage dropped. A bigger wire will drop less voltage - which will provide better motor performance - but its not likely to be a major wire heating issue (as long as the connectors are well sized).

Thanks, guys.

The supplied harness was just barely long enough to reach the new location of the resistor pack.

Installation complete and blowing hard.

I don't follow theory very often.....I'm more of a "show it to me" kind of guy.

And I don't make stuff because I'm bored and out of things to do....

I made the upgraded loom because of severe overheating of the wires......I actually had a vehicle that had smoking wiring. I told Jim Corenman about the problem (he had one of the replacement motors installed) and he said that he had had no problems....then he went out and touched the wires.

Anyone that has one of these replacement high current draw motors should go out and grab their wiring, especially right at the junction where the car loom meets the fan wiring. Interestingly enough, I initially though that the resistance was this connection and improved those connectors, but the wiring continued to get hot right at this junction.

High resistance in the fresh air blower circuit caused my original wires to fry running the OEM blower motor -
