Jerry, nowhere did I insult the intelligence of any of you. Perhaps seat **** wasn't the appropriate word, alright, I'll give you that. But, I did state above though in my post that I was not professing, I did not say that my car or seats were 10/10, and I described the job in great detail which should have shown you where I was coming from.
I'm here because I find it a valuable resource...and I just paid this place a huge compliment. I wouldn't be here if I didn't find it a great place to get info... I never insulted anyone's intelligence. Yes, could I have used a different title, probably, but I'm always trying to be a grasshopper... I pour through this place all the time reading things and saying to myself how invaluable it is.

So, now you are telling us that even though you posted the original picture as "****," you are now actually telling us that you are requiring the craftsman to do them over??????

I have requested that the front pleat and stitching be re done. The entire bottom doesn't need to be redone. The rearward two pleats/cushions are just fine.
Those seats look otherwise great and I'm proud of them. I'll be sure to omit the **** title next time. My bad.

Whoever you are, I don't intend anyting I post about anything you post to be taken as a suggestion that you not be a useful part of this community. I just suggest that when you post something you should be thickskinned enough to listen to the truth about what you post or at least what others actualy think about it. That is the nature of a FORUM, in my opinion.
However, if you think that your participation in this community is solely dependent on every one kissing your *** about what you post, then I think you ought to be somewhere else. What do you think?

You took issue with the seat that I posted, you didn't take issue with me. I'm perfectly content with you offering your opinion on my seat. The title was perhaps misrepresentative. Sorry about that.
Nice to meet you, and I hope our next interaction is more amicable. Sorry we met like this and I took what you had to say like I did.

I would have hoped that you might have taken my comments about your seats as constructive criticism, and particualry since you are taking them back for some rework. One of the benefits of being part of this forum is the expertices that you might benefit from. If you are unwilling to benefit from my criticism or unwilling to recognize that your seats are poorly done for whatever money you paid for them, then you are not gleening from this Forum what you say you are participating in it for.
Your seat inserts are very poorly done and the guy who did them should do them over. If that part of your deal with him is still open then I suggest that you reevaluate your end result and have him make the corrections. If you need further help in the evaluation of the poor job done, then I am willing to show you further how poor they actually are. Let me know.

Sadly that seat is not "****" at all (depending, perhaps, on one's sexual desires), but is in fact one of the worst jobs of fabricating the Porsche 928 seat inserts that I have seen. When you say that they pretty much match the originals, I assure you that that is only true in respect to the originals after they have shrunk and deformed after decades of sunshine, moisture and lack of leather care that your's and most others likely have suffered, and not original as with when the car was new. It saddens me to learn that you have paid most of $2000 for that kind of workmanship. All you have now is seats with the used up worn out look, but in new leather. The lines of the perforations in the new leather used do not even line up with the inserts.
However, if you are happy with them, then I guess all is good.

Well, Tony, I can't tell if you are popping the balloon or piercing the egg, but in either case it is certainly not contributing anything except to your post count.

I think it's called bursting someone's bubble.

Don't mind Jerry, its just his own dogmatic style, and he sometimes appears to be lacking social mores. If it helps, you can go to his profile page, click 'User lists" and add him to your ignore list.
I had a think about my mufflers btw, and I don't want to sell one, as I'd like the option of putting them back to stock. I will ask my local 928 parts guy (he's been dismantling crashed ones for about 20 years) just on the chance that he has some.

Jerry, I appreciate your critical eye. I like my seat for the most part and we will have a small tweak before we get it back into the car. If you see me around, my name is Royal Lichter and I'm looking forward to having a good positive rapport with you in the future. Sorry for getting off on the wrong foot. I hope I can be fellow good member sometime with your help.
Hilton, thanks for checking!! I would probably keep mine too. I am going to use an X pipe in place of the front most muffler, I think, and 85-86 mufflers after the X-Pipe. We need to get rid of that single pipe system at all costs, it is robbing my car of power. Thanks for checking and cheers!
