I think Jerry contributes a lot to this forum. I also think he takes a lot away from the forum as well. He sometimes comes off as very rude and surly.
Royal, don't think twice about what he said. Your seats look great. I hope you are happy with them, and don't let Jerry upset you. After some more time on the board, you'll know that it is just Jerry being Jerry. He is actually a gifted fabricator, and comes up with some really cool, needed replacement parts. Sometimes he just gets cranky.

Royal,
I think your seat looks very good. I did notice flaws in the insert contours and sewing. Overall I think it presents very well. It would have been much more impressive with a "before" picture. I spend a lot of time giving critiques to people, and I have found that I am most successful when I work with the positive attributes of the situation. The negatives can be handled gently and presented as my opinion or not how I would have handled them. Then it is my duty to explain what might be done differently and hopefully better. Phrases like "worst I've seen" are really not helpful except as shock value, which is way down the list if you are trying to help someone. But not everyone is trying to help someone, I guess.
Keep plugging away, Royal. Rennlist is really a very good place, and Jerry is an incredible resource.
Good luck,
Dave

Hey, no sucking up. I'm not a very strong fighter, I just want to have fun with my car. We're all good guys.

Christ Jerry, do you always have to come accross as such an a-hole? You are the unique one here, your contributions notwithstanding. The OP wasn't soliciting for feedback but merely running a virtual victory lap for something he was happy with and proud of. The OP did not insult my intelligence with his exhubrance, you did with your thoughtless and unwarranted criticism.

Your seats look pretty killer man. I'd be happy to have some that nice in mine.

Not to throw more of a wrench into this topic...but...after seeing Paul Champagne's work over the years...well...everything else is just OK.

This is exactly why I've avoided forums in the past. However, I did think that RL/928 was different. We all come here as a daily 'fix' of 928 content, in whatever form it appears. There's nowhere else to go for our cars. This sort of commentary, regardless of circumstance, will force each one of us to give serious thought before posting anything here. (I don't know of anyone who wants to be upbraided in front of his peers)

The result is that no one posts, and we have nothing to read. Before you post, give thought to the impact of your comments. I hate to say this because Jerry does a great service for the community, but he thoroughly misfired here, and the group (like Royal's gesture) is a forgiving bunch. Measure twice, cut once.

Royal, thanks for posting and keep them coming. We'll enjoy and celebrate every bit of your work.

I would have no problem having that seat in my 928.
If its an improvement from where you started, then its a move in the right direction.

I must say I agree with your 'constructive criticism' of Jerrys tactful, sensitive and endearing personality, and your thoughts regarding the OP mirror mine .. thank you.
