Steve - I asked Jim @ 928 Intn'l for an extra cut-off piece. I had to trim it to size. The vacuum hose routing diagram located in that area was totally trashed on my car, so it wasn't a problem covering it - looks much better now.

Jim - your 928 project is like Santa Claus - there comes a point when you no longer believe in him. Are you there yet?

My car also wears the "Apollo space blanket technology"....home made with cheap carpet padding and two layers of Reynolds wrap. Laugh all you want, it cost me $15.00 and works well. Personally I don't like the looks of a 928 without a roof, but to each their own. I love my $15.00 Apollo space blanket as well as what rides under it.

Maybe you need to rename your car to "The CHEAP Bastard"... .

I just went through this ordeal, and opted for the original.

Reasoning:

1. Anything other than original looks strange
2. I dont know if I want all the heat from the engine to be deflected right back to the engine bay. The original equipment was installed for a reason, and thousands of us have run it for years no problem. I wouldnt experiment, at least not on my machine.

I think the only reason I might try something else, is to try to gain an increase in sound insulation. I like the exhaust note, but I'm not as fond of the mechanical sounds of the engine, etc...

Randy,

My car is supposed to be coming back to me on the 8th or 9th of August. The Electromotive engine management system is not communicating with my tach so that will not be working when it returns. I will have to install 37 lb injectors after the initial break in period and I can't go more than half throttle until those injectors are installed. I have had to go cold turkey for over three years now so I hope the end result will have been worth while.
