I gotta admit I do agree with MK on this one.....my experience doesn't reflect his success, but what is the magic fairy dust that allows this to happen?

So if MK warms up the car to his satisfaction, drives the proper circles, does that mean Anderson can drive it? Or anyone else?

How about this.....Petty, Kibort and I will be at Thunderhill March 22-23....Petty and Kibort will be racing, Casper will be ready, but I don't know if I want to race the new engine just yet. What if Mark Anderson fly's up and races a couple races in Kiborts car? I just got 6 new oil filters....we can change them inbetween each race.....and cut them open to inspect them, with photos...plus lap times.... NCRC runs two races per day...easy to change drivers, they are very cool....Kibort runs a race, then Anderson runs a race...with filters to prove
OH, but your experience DOES reflect. you just took a old 928, with a good amount of power, running some pretty quick times, especialy for a car with only 270hp, and pulled g's as high as most anyone . AND had it last for over 50 hours. AND you did it with a crank that should have grenade that motor from day one. (or day 2). we did that in the black '79. don't know where it is now, but that motor was doomed too. we got 5 weekends out of it, and we beat the snot out of it. we tried mobil 1... remember the devek buttonwillow day?? (back in 2002) anyway, the oil warning light was going on all over the place. we changed the oil to redline and that problem went away.

No, Mark, it's called "making a choice". There are lots of good oils out there, it is OK to choose another.

Okay lets be 100% logical and scientific...even if I have been drinking heavily like always....

Kibort drives the same tracks as I do at a good pace, running the flawed (in my opinion) S4 oil system...I ran the same tracks at a similar pace, given my lower HP (by 107) and the engine died.... Only myself and Sean drove the car once I owned it...and I admit I did not take all the precautions to protect the engine that I will moving forward....so honestly the 27.5 hours on track plus all the rest previously to 1992 I would say this motor did very well by any standard...especially 928 race car standards...

So what is the answer..why does Kibort's engines that he builds live....why does everyone else blow up....why is this....there must be an answer....I ran the very best Amsoil (I am a dealer) run oil analysis every two hours and change the oil every 6....with a much better oiling system (OB pan and spacer)...Keep in mind I changed the oil at 6, but blackstone said keep running it...but I am **** so I changed it...

There must be a way to answer this ??? The current 5.0L euro going into Casper is WELL built...to exacting standards...insanely precise...I have the data....My friend Jim Morton and Sean built it, it was extremely labor intensive.... many many hours going into it.... a 5.0L euro with Euro S LH heads & cams....plus larger valves and extensive porting....I am optimistic it will make excellent power and live forever... But I can guarantee this....it won't run a stock 928 oiling system....while I respect Kiborts success it has cost me & everyone else I know thousands and thousands of $$$$ trying to replicate it....with a ZERO success rate...not one...ever...

SO I go back to my previous statement....Mark Anderson fly's' up to our race weekend March 22-23 (I'll pick you up at airport)....and runs 1 race each day....(2 per day plus practice and qualifying total) in MK's racer...to make everything fair we will pull the oil filter after each race, drain it and save it for inspection...once everyone is watching we will cut it open and document the "data" on video..... I am sure Anderson can donate a few oil filters for the cause....

Hmm...maybe a new post is in order......maybe Doc can fly up with Anderson.....Hmmm....interesting

sure, make the choice......... amsoil and some others , hold their viscosity. amsoil is formulated to do so. mobil 1 isnt. its the reason we saw the oil pressure light on at every turn on a hot day at buttonwillow. since then, better oil (redline, amsoil, equiv.) and that doesnt happen. so, make your choise, but dont blame the marketing of a company for it being a sub-standard product. that has nothing to do with it.

before you get scientific, lets face facts rather than guesses:

I had over 100 hours on the '84 motor
i had over 120 hours on the holbert motor, and it was pulled apart and the bearings were perfect
I have over 60 hours on the new motor and all filters have been opened and no particles at all in the filter material

also, dont forget , AGAIN, that casper has the old pre '84 crank and which has half the diameter oiling holes. it failed for that reason. its the most obvious of any reason so far.
