Default Relay Part number quest (was ABS -> Alarm -> Everything...)

I am seeking information about the ABS relays mounted on the hydraulic unit - these are Bosch relays with the round pins - at least thats how they look on the late models.

ABS was available as an option from 1984 - 1990 (M593) from 1991 on it was standard.

The relays mounted on the ABS Hydraulic unit from '89-95 are the same:
Activation Relay: 0.332.002.173 (7 pin) Bosch
Pump Relay: 0.332.002.171 (4 pin) Bosch

Earlier cars from 1984 appear to me to use the same pump relay
Pump Relay: 0.332.002.171 (4 pin) Bosch (but I can't be sure...?)

These same cars for sure use a different activation relay
Activation Relay: ?.???.???.??? (5 pin) I cannot find this ID? - nor ANY 5 pin, round pin Bosch ABS relays

Anyone have data on this?

Alan

Relays on the ABS unit ---
84 to 87 = 928 618 931 00 = Bosch #0332205003 (5 pin)
88 = 928 618 931 01
89 to 95 = 928 618 931 02= Bosch #0332002173 (7 pin)

84 to 87 = 928 618 930 00 - Bosch #0332002176 (4 pin)
88 to 95 = 928 618 930 01 = Bosch #0332002171 (4 pin)

All stand alone relays and they do not SS. Do not know the other Bosch numbers

I have nothing to offer, but I thought 1986 was the year that ABS was made standard. I'm just curious one way or the other. Thanks and good luck, Brian

I'm basing that on the wiring diagrams which show it as optional for those years, (e.g. has a Mxxx option code for the controller) that may not be correct... could certainly be just a hold over from previous years where it was an option. Anyone else know? do you have an '86 with ABS that doesn't have M593 option code?

Wow - Roger thanks, I go looking for the equivalents and by the time I am back here you have posted those too! excellent!!

For those following along this is part of the "Relays not Located on the CE Panel" documentation - working my way through that now - the ABS unit relays on the hydraulic unit were never very well documented elsewhere - now they will be - with major help from Roger!

I think you mean 964 615 135 00 which SS to 964 615 135 01.
I am pretty sure it is available but can double check tomorrow.

You must be going bats with all these numbers - I have to double check myself.

Anyone with an 88 care to check the Bosch number on the relay (small silver one) on top of the ABS unit?

Ahh I typed it wrong - yes 964 615 135 00 I have it written here correctly from a old photo of mine.

No wonder I didn't find any... you get dyslexic eventually...

Alan - when I counted the round pins on the relays I only counted metal pins. Each relay had a plastic guide post/pin as well.

yes - just the metal pins (the orientation pins don't count to me either).

Default Now looking for alarm details

OK quest has moved on - Now looking at alarms:

There are various alarm modules over the years (they are really just single/double/triple/quad smart relays) - here's what I think... where am I wrong?

Main Alarm Unit:
1978 - 1982 - 928.618.117.00 (behind glovebox?)
1983 - 1986 - 928.637.104.00 (behind glovebox?)
1987 - 1990 - 928.637.104.05 (behind glovebox?)
1991 - 928.618.260.00 (beneath RHS seat)
1992 - 1995 - 928.618.260.01 (beneath RHS seat)

Secondary Alarm Unit:
1989-1990 only 928.637.160.00 - In console

Alarm Foglight Flasher:
1988 - 1990 only 944.615.113.00/01 - In console

Roger can you help?

Alan
