Default that baseball glove smell.

I have been known to buys baseball gloves and put in my car just for the glove smell…love that leather smell missing from so many interiors today…..

I have seen multiple post and threads on leather care and rarely if ever feel compelled to bring up a subjective topic but…..I think I have found the holy grail of leather smells…..yes I have tried LEATHERIQUE, GRIOTS, ZAINO,AND CHEMICAL GUYS JUST TO NAME A FEW

and they all clean well and soften to a point but I have found something that smells like a baseball glove all the time……

old fashioned product called GLIPTONE liquid leather conditioner…..I put it on the interior of my 928 leather and wallet and check book ( yes I still use checks)…and after 5 weeks everything still smells like my favorite baseball glove!!! try it guys , it really livens up the leather smell of my 928!!!

I agree TV , lexol leatherique and others do a great job rejuvenating and softening the leather. what I discovered was the great smell that stayed with the leather after the treatment. just heaven to my smeller….

Saw thread title and came to recommend Gliptone, but you've already discovered it! Not sure what it is, but Jags 20, 30+ years old still smell like leather. Not so much other manufacturers - although I hears Rolls is the same.

Where do you get it? Any Walmart or at an Autozone or car store? My Cayman has a full natural brown interior and I think this would be perfect.

Did they change the type of leather around the halfway point of production run? OB leather seems to have this nice rich texture to it, the various nuances and flaws of the hide show, whereas my 87 seats are just all smooth, no real texture at all. This shows in cork interiors especially, i love cork interiors <3.

I recommended it to Roger a long time back and he's used it and I think likes it. He was thinking of stocking it, and if he doesn't now, would probably if there was enough ongoing demand.

It's the closest to real new leather smell you'll find. Here's a pic ...

Discovered this product a short time ago and concur with you all. If you buy the full restoration kit direct from Gliptone, they even give you a leather scented deodoriser to hang off your mirror (as if the conditioner wasn't enough). 10 out of 10.

Just bought a couple bottles from Amazon--thanks for the tip.

For those who want the taxi cab look/feel, Gliptone doesn't disappoint

Andy,

Thanks for the recommendation. I TOO love the smell of that baseball glove that I probably took to bed with me MANY times in my young days. Ordered some, and hope it brings back that childhood memory for me as well.
