Thanks IMO000,

I wasn't all that interested in doing this machining myself or figuring out a design,

it was an attempt to start a design conversation about this wheel.
(Used to be an Industrial Designer) this was what we did and it would go round and round and before long we came up with something.

Anyway re the S4 wider rears; I do like the rear S4 disc wheels, they look nice with that slight dish and it makes it all work for me as a whole.

I prefer a much deeper dish wheel though like my old classic Fuchs on the Carrera (not very light though) but these look awful on a 928 for some reason.

MY 1983S had these disc or flat wheels when i bought the car and i lived with them for a while.

I don't think any manufacturers version (Audi, Bmw,Mercedes and more) of this style wheel from the '80s has aged very well.

But to many these wheels are o.e. and found to be elegant or understated and that's cool with me.

It's the creativity that counts, and that's a pretty damn good idea. I don't mind the look of the manhole covers. I'd actually like to get mine anodized in Weissach gold, on a murdered out black S4 those would look sweet, satin anodizing. Plus the Weissach shade of gold anodizing is subtle, it's there but not overstated like gold BBS's or gold wheels in general everyone likes to put on Subi's.

Not to hijack the thread but I like the roof graphics... a lot.
I also see the wood shift **** installed -- which was my first choice, if you remember.

Tough crowd on Pelican, which is unusual.
What's the primary goal with the wheels Mr. Mariani?
Light Weight vs. Period vs. Performance vs. Cosmetic Factor
Give me some more insight.

I like the gold anodizing on black very period.

I liked mine until the P.O. (2nd owner for 6 months) had them polished out and badly.

I missed buying my car from the original owner 'by that much' because i hesitated and it was gone. It had the original anodized finish on the disc wheels which i liked

The second owner (I like to call him Numb Nuts) got frustrated with my car and found a way to contact me but he ruined the wheels and had the original front seats redone in those vinyl kits because of a 1" wear spot on the driver's side seat bolster. I loved the seats prior to him doing this.
They were in excellent condition.

Anyone who has sat on vinyl in the Summer knows it isn't pleasant.
