Default Early 928 Detail Questions

As I continue my parts gathering, I have a few detail questions on my 79 US.

1. Which jack should I have, steel or aluminum?
2. In addition to the emergency spare bulb kit, did all cars have the emergency reflectors, spare belt and spare spark plugs or just Euro cars?
3. Where does the lug wrench get stored? with the spare or in the tool kit?
4. Where the lugs black or silver in color originality?

Thanks for the help!

Wow, good questions...don't know all your answers, but on my early car,

Pretty sure my jack is steel
Don't know..., there was a bulb kit? Reflectors? Belt? Plugs? Geez, where have I been?
My lug wrench is on the panel with the tool kit (I am missing some tools tho')
My nuts are black....(does that sound weird?)

**edit**

Below is correct....lug wrench is in a little cloth bag...I had to go out and verify...fergot that...

Yep, black steel jack and black alum anodized nuts.

I've found bulb kits and belts in both US and RoW.

Hazard triangle and first aid kit RoW only, and not all countries.

Spark plug kit it hard to find. So rare to me, I haven't enough anecdotal evidence.

Lug wrench, seen it behind tool kit... but I think it went behind spare tire by the jack.

And I don't think much went in the spare tire... possibly air pump or dealer supplied goodies.

FWIW
On my 81 and 82 the lug wrench was in a felt bag inside a heavy plastic dealy' and laying on a cloth on top of the tire.
Been awhile, where's Bucks County? Down by Ligonier or Somerset?
towed my 82 up to Oil City, PA right before Thanksgiving, and will be hauling my son's wrecked 81 from Midland, TX before summer if you need or can use some parts let me know.
As to the rest of your query' there used to be a guy on the forum named Dennis up in Oklahoma he was older than me and I'm 63 so there's no telling if he's still on the planet, but he was knowledgeable and pretty damned handy with the 79/80 928's, WUR, and gas system champ.
He might still lurk or you might try the archives if you don't get a response.

I have a bulb kit, empty of bulbs.
Leeroy had the triangular reflector, never seen one before. Leeroy is not a Euro, but given it's provenance what is has/doesn't have means nothing.
I would like to know where the lug wrench mounts. I keep mine with the spare tire, but it doesn't really fit well there.
My lugs are silver.

There was a fairly complete tool panel with jack on Ebay yesterday. I was looking for a picture of it for you but it looks like someone snatched it up.

Are those reflectors stock? It's funny I have a couple of those metal belt tags, always wondered where they came from.

Dang! That's a good one. I would've bought it just for the Beru spark plugs.

I've been collecting this stuff for a while. I believe I have at least one of everything, except the really early air compressor (Have the later ugly white plastic one though).

At some point I'll put it all together, inventory and publish it.

I don't think there is any 'location' slot for the lug wrench as shown on that panel (unless early panels are different?).

It also looks like the panel is warped & the carpet covering coming off... and those elastic straps aren't stock right?

On a GTS I know there is an indent in the foam for the cover over the spare for the lug wrench - so thats where its supposed to go on a GTS - however I keep mine in a fabric "condom" (for rattle resistance) behind the tool panel (along with the jack). LHD pass side - if you feel under the lip on the outboard end there is a taller opened section - stick the short wrench end upwards into that opening and the lug wrench handle will snug to the back of the space allowing room for the jack in its bag and a full tool panel. It may not be the stock location but it works to free up space in the tire well - which for me is pretty stuffed.

Yes stock on early cars.

A couple of my early cars had the Beru spark plugs - they were in a plastic bag and just two of them.

Bucks County is just north of Philadelphia. Right across the Delaware river from Jersey. I believe oil city is on the other side of the state, correct?

Thanks for all the replies. I have an OCD for originality and completeness. Part of the fun is the hunt. Anyone know if these reflectors are correct? I have seen only the triangle.
