I will replace the TOB and the pressure plate. The disks are fine.
While I was fighting this thing under the car to get it out, I think I may have decided to sell my entire new/nearly new 80-86 clutch assembly. I was going to use it on one of my cars but I am so flipping done with these dual disk setups. So many little inkling issues here and there, even with relatively new parts.

I'm going to have to replace the center shaft as well. It got worn down in the center.

Mark thought it may be from an overreach from the master or slave cylinders. I will have to check alignment when it all goes back in today or tomorrow.

Leeroy is on the road (again).
I have thuroughly checked the clutch operation and have decided that I continue to despise the overly complex DD clutch that Porsche designed for the 928. It works - when you can get the stars to align.
I bought a relatively good used pressure plate from Mark during the holiday sale. I did not want to use my near-new stash as I knew I would be selling my last set for some car-cash.
I also bought good used washers and clip rings for the throw out bearing.
I used my second best throw out bearing and have claimed the completely locked up throw out bearing that was in Leeroy to send and get redone for the low mile 86.5 I am working on.
And a center shaft.
Damn this crap's heavy. REALLY heavy when you are lifting it over your head. I am not sure it would be any easier with a lift?
I put the spacer under the pedal back so the arm will not go further than it needs to. I also replaced the slave rod with one with unbroken rubber.
Finally, after I drove it around I found that the rear shift coupler had completely come apart and was allowing very sloppy shifts. I had noticed it getting bad before but forgot in the down time.
So I took my last really good rear coupler and installed it.
Now Leeroy's shifting and clutch action is as good as I think its going to be for a while, especially since the car has like 240k miles or something like that.
I will keep him for a while while I work on the other 928s and rebuild the transmission in my truck for DD use. I will fix the driver's door handle, and at that point he will be ready for another user.
Current Tally for BC work on Leeroy (both times combined)
Shocks
Brakes (pulled off for S brakes between shifts)
Upper Ball Joints
Front wheel Bearings
Injector cleaning and fuel lines
Radiator
Radiator Fan
Barn Door MAF
Alternator (AC delco)
Power steering pump
Clutch TOB
Clutch Pressure plate
Center shaft for clutch
Rear Coupler
Shift lever (shorter aluminum one)
Shift lever boot
Slave Cylinder
Bumper repair and repaint (paint fading)
New rear hatch (long story)

Not so much.
I found that the driver door opens easily if you lift up while you you open, not much force required. But I assumed it was an alignment issue.
I will have to try that. I think it had gotten worse since you had it. I haven'tused tthe outside handle for months.
