Common root maybe, but precedent only in release time.

Unpopular opinion...? I always have loved the four spoke steering wheel.

It's like when you see a clapped out rusty pile of garbage barreling down the highway with a brand new set of $5,000 chrome 22" wheels.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I have never really liked the feel of the 4-spoke wheel, in terms of its cross-section / shape- feels too sharp in my hands. Much prefer the rounder, smoother airbag wheel's feel. Maybe there's some magic to the 83-89 4-spoke wheel after you've handled it all day on that 1000 mile drive (?)

I don't like the 4-spoke. As Rob says, it just doesn't feel right. I'm always on the lookout for a 3-spoke in great shape so I can swap it out.

Yeah, with tiny little drum brakes peeking through the spokes....
