Hi Rob, thanks so much for doing this for us.
I believe this is an 81, but could you tell me anything about this?
WP0JA0927BS321206
The (paint?) tag above it on the door sill says "895 9 3" and "weinrotmetallic" X8
Thanks again!

Sure- here you go:

WP0JA0927BS821206

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=WP0JA0927BS821206

1981 5-speed Competition package
C02 - 49 state US market
000000 - no engine code but should be M28.15, engine serial # range 811 0001 >5000
G00000 - no transmission code but should be G28.05 transmission serial # range 11 10001>19999

M261 - Outside mirror - plain-Passenger's side, electrically adjustable and heatable
I287 - Extra washing installation for windshield (probably means intensive washer)
I471 - Integrated rear spoiler (Competition Group option or Sport group 1 )
M533 - Alarm system
M563 - Automatic air conditioner
M650 - Sunroof

Weinrot metallic is a cool and unusual color, here's a thread about it:

https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...5-on-ob-s.html

And you can see the relative rarity at Rennbow:

Thanks again Rob!
Unfortunately, this car has already been cut apart by an aspiring 4x4 truck race team, and when the event was cancelled, they just set the body back down on the lower shell, backwards. I doubt any of the body would be useful to anyone. I'm hoping the mechanical parts will come in handy in resurrecting my 1979 though.

Apologies, I don't have any interior code data (except for US market GTSs)

That is an unusual color combination, though:
