Hmm, the ball joints should be okay I think. The last 4 numbers of the VIN isn't in that range mentioned. I am wondering though, the list said I need all 4 CV Boots replaced. I see some CV Boot kits for sale online etc. Are there special CV Boot kits or would I just need to find the right range in year and it should work?
Also, I was told by the mechanic that most if not all the 928s have a slight squeaking sound. I thought it was my brakes but he checked and said they are okay. Just wondering if anyone else has a squeaking problem when braking sometimes?

Hmm, I am guess the squeaking may be a grease issue perhaps?

Oh yea!

Squeeky all the time! Well, not all the time. After a peroid of hard brakeing, the tops of the pads wear off, and probably the surface of the rotors, and it kills the squeeking for a while. Not very long though, so I have an excuse to zoom up to 135, as fast as I'll get her, and then stom on the brakes.

I'm told this is because the pads are eighter metalic, or semi metalic. When you get the metal bits on the pad touching the cast iron of the rotor, you get a squeeking. They make almost no dust, but squeek like heck.

The solution I'm told is to get nonmetalic pads, and then break them in REALY well.
