Hi, 545svk's driver side front wing got damaged today, needing removal to rectify. (RHD)![banghead](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/banghead.gif)

Searching back posts mention the screws and bolt at the rear of the wing and the glue like gunk but there is no mention about whether the front bumper cover need to be removed completely.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
As an aside, the plastic trim behind the wheel was knocked of and I was surprised that the metal is not painted body color. It looks like black primer. Is this correct or evidence of previous repairs?

Agree with above, we also call it a wing in the UK, however if you do a search ie, " 928 and fender removal " there,s quite a bit info, one example here...,

You may get away with only unbolting the one side of the bumper cover.
The fender will be held tight against the body by the sealant. Work carefully to avoid distorting the fender when pulling it free. The bolt heads in that area are covered with sealant and may not be apparent. Check a resource for the count of bolts.

I had to loosen the front bumper cover in my experience. Pretty sure I just removed the bolts across the top and the belly pan, I didn't have to undo the bolts in the other fender, err.. wing.
You need to pry about a 1/2" of space in order for the studs in the bumper cover to clear the fender.

Thank you for the comments and links. Much appreciated.
I use this google string to search Rennlist "search_app#q=site:forums.rennlist.com+inurl%3A928"
Basically you add this to the end of your query.
What do you use because you get better results than me.

I'll be doing this on my '95 soon...damn it! Damage not as bad as this car, but my H5 light is busted. At least it was the old one and it has a brand new one on the other side and it was bothering me that they didn't both look new and the same...oh well...

My "repair" is unfortunately going to be a make do bodge till I can get a replacement fender, or most likely a parts car from Japan.
I tried today to open the fold at the trailing edge of the fender and then get the skin to follow the "rib" that bolt to the firewall. The profile of the trailing edge is improving, but getting things to line up and stay in place is hard.
This is the first time I tried any bodywork and I am aware I have no tools for this.
Having said this, I enjoy watching TV programs like Inside West Coast Customs etc. and is having a blast blast trying this with my 9 yr old son. He is also enjoying it.
It is also a good opportunity to clean the windscreen washer system, clean stuff and find out what is what, and that is why I bought this 928.
Will post some pics tomorrow.
