Euro 928 2014
#16
Hey Kurt.
Long time..Yes I think so
I'm thinking of taking the old girl out of a very long sleep.
A bit afraid of what I will find when I lift the cover..
You thinking of going to this event?
Is black beauty still going strong?
Kevin

GREAT to hear from you again! I often wondered what happened to the "old guys" like you, Mats and Michel and all the others. Not many left around here.
A long sleep can cause funny things so be careful and let her wake up slowly - but who am I telling that!
My car is still working fine, a bit of patina is starting to show but I try to keep this in check. Currently she is still in hibernation and I did a few things during the winter but I am looking forward to the first outing in March.
I am not sure if I can make it to the Euro meeting, it falls right into a busy time so I might have to arrange something with short notice.
Are you planning to go?
All the best
Kurt

yikes, sorry for asking!
So Sandrine is now driving the CS?
My commiseration to you - I hope you finish and can enjoy your new project soon!

Race Car
Yes, she is. The car is fine and currently is being "refreshed" by a very capable man, who is also a friend.
The project is far from the end but it is really fun to build your "perfect" car. It was impossible to modify anything on the CS and this was quite frustrating.

Euro928 program & registration form
Hi All,
looks like we're all making it again.
While the agenda is stable, pricing has been tickled down as far as possible and the first set of registration forms are uploaded to http://euro.928.net (you need to register, but sorry, the first set is in German language only).
Before the week ends there will be an English version.
Hope to see you in Leipzig on May 9-11,
-Gunther

Hi, Kurt, Samuel, Gunther and all here.
Yes. I'm planning to go but only I manage to successfully wake up all 330 horses. I'll have a look at the weekend and see what the situation is.
I haven't driven it for about 4 years now so it might be "interesting". We'll see.
Do you think I might need to charge the battery Where is the battery BTW?
Probably should do the timing belt etc. just to be sure.
Samuel, I'm wondering what you mean by "modifying" your new S4..??

Hi Kevin,
be careful when waking it up again and make sure the timing belt is changed after such a long rest.
The English translation of the registration form is up now, the agenda has not changed from what was originally up on the website... the "blumie" version will make it during the day tomorrow.

Great to see that you are all alive and kicking!
the chances of me coming to Leipzig are getting slimmer by the day but I am sure you are going to have fun anyway.
Kevin, Good luck with your waking up the beast again! And I do remember that your battery is buried under a pile of audio stuff!

I've registered on their site but I'm not sure if I will make it. The car probably won't be ready by then. Going with the DD might be an option but then again maybe painful to see all those beauty's.

Race Car
No option Euro 1987 S4 (white or red) in good condition (but not to good also, otherwise it's a shame to modify it)
- useless (to me) equipment
+ useful (to me) original Porsche parts
= My vision of the perfect 928.
It was a challenge just to find the right car to start with but I found it.
I already have most of the parts.
The outside bodywork is almost finished.
I'm not sure I could come with this car to the Euro 928 but I will do my best to be there.
