Thanks for your input - Roger

It looks like other Gemballa versions I have seen. See for example this '91 S4 which is in Finland. Its not completely original but gives idea what changes compared to stock S4 look like.

Looks nice, know nothing about it, or Gembella's for that matter. I will be two hours away from it next week if you need a closer look.

I agree. Bleah... interior is kind of cool and unique though. Sport style seats with a twist.

I was involved in the grey market and actually met Uwe Gemballa when he visited the shop I worked at in So Fla in 1987. We were selling his cars (I can't remember the name of the business but it was owned by a Canadian named Claude Ratte). His most outrageous design was the Avalanche, and trust me on this one - it was a cobbled up piece of junk! Oh, it made for a great poster, and it had a Ruf engine, but it was a POSER all the way. Whenever you combine fiberglass and metal, its a guarantee that it will crack at the point where they come together. And of course this one did. And I only saw it leave the shop once to be driven by the owner - the guy that owned Shooters in Oakland Park for anybody that knows So Fla. Ruf also used at that time the 915 gearbox, which of course was a 5 speed at the time the 930 only had the 4 speed. The problem with that set up was that the clutch assembly for the 915 couldn't handle the torque of a stock turbo motor let alone what Ruf did to get more power from the engine. One of the cars came off the transporter with the clutch broken (remember the rubber center of the clutch disc intended to prevent gear chatter on take off?).
Yeah, I remember the Gemballa cars...fiberglass and metal are like oil and water.

I sense a dastardly scheme. I think Roger is trying to buy up all of the interesting 928s so that they become rarer, are in short supply, and thus more valuable. He successfully piloted this approach with shock absorbers, then Weissach luggage some time ago...

WOW, that white one above is ridiculous, as are most of those creations actually. Talk about deep dish too, that's not a dish, that's a barrel!

Roger, I do not know anything about this car. Just happen to find the add on Ebay. The car is located in the town of Mittelfranken near Nürnberg in the southern part of Germany. I am sitting in Sweden, not near the car. Can see Leon Speed is offering to take a closer look at the car. Think that is one way to go if you are serious about buying the car. You can phone the owner (it is a private seller), I am sure he speaks english. Phone +49 171-5340034. The asked price is EUR 14.800 but it is an auction ending 00:18pm December 22 so it can go higher.
