Definitely ex-Japanese. The Japanese labels on the air filter box are a clear indication. The euro features with digital dash and no airbags, no sunroof, no A-pillar VIN, etc. agree with that. I have one like it with half the mileage...

Likely it has been in Canada for some time based on the customizations (red plug wires, GTS mirrors, stereo, wheels). Some of the other claims are not true - "all factory options" and "sport seats" for example. But still nice.

The pics seem from different times - the yellow Ontario plates are 'service' plates, whereas the white plates are 'owner' plates.

Importing to the States is not likely possible.

My 78 has that **** too...hydraulic headlight aim system on the OB's....I hear the later models had electric....from what I've been told, not legal in the US....since mine is such an early car, it must have squeaked through.

Yes, electric. Fun to play with. There is an electric motor in each headlight pod to adjust height, independently of the lift motor. Being a Japanese car the 8" H4s are likely for driving on the other side of the road. Switching them over does not seem to be required/enforced in Ontario, altho it should be.

BTW, just for the record, here is what the air filter box stickers likely look like (pic from mine):

From an email from the seller...

Yes, I imported it for my dad from Japan.

Yes, I have the service records.

It has been in Canada since 2008 - that is when I impiorted it.

We owned it since 2008./

These mirrors are FACTORY OPTIONAL that came from the factory.

Timing belt was done at 75,000 KM - it is now 76,xxx

I saw it for sale for the first time in 2009. If I remember correctly, the seller has a small company importing car from Japan.

If it's that guy, (and he was in Richmond Hill when I was looking about six years ago), he was bringing them in by the container-full, and his pricing was high (At the time). He had a mechanic working for him that did all the timing belts and water pumps when they came in. I'd be careful about what was actually installed. The mechanic said he could knock them out in a "couple of hours".
He did have some very nice cars though, and some cool odd European stuff around the place.
That does look like a nice one though, and for the sake of double checking and worst case a timing belt and water pump, might be well worth looking into.
