Fiberglass Rear Wing Group Buy?
#31
I'll buy. Maybe it will save me from two new gas struts in the near future. I will paint/airbrush myself to convince me for good that I'm done with bodywork forever.
I've dealt w/ fiberglass replacement parts before. Folks should be prepared for some prep. work prior to final finish.

Thank you Jeff - I have tried to stress this, as I believe Weissach did as well. Its grey fiberglass. It will need prep for a good paint "stick".
Do we have 9?
I have a few Brits in on this, so I think we will need to start planning for this to happen soon.
I will call him tomarrow again and speak to him about how he wants to proceed.

Pete,
If it's just plain 'ol fiberglass, prep is mostly elbow grease.
First sand out any mold lines and gross bumps. Then wet sand with #300. Then a coat of Velvaseal or Kittyhair. Then block sand with #600 for finish. If you got through the primer shoot it again, then you're ready to paint.

It looks like we have about 10 now, probably more. So now comes the planning stages. No Credit cards as I believe I mentioned, and the money is up front to the shop.
Its monday now, so I will endeavor to get a moment to call him.

That is obviously an option, and indeed the one that I was thinking of for the English contingent.

Brendan,
Give me a shout how you want the money sent to you. Either by paypal , check, money order, or do you want me to break the piggy bank open and send pennies?

Brendan - doesn't this shop do COD?. If so, and at the group price, all you'll need to forward is our names and addresses. Either way, I'm good to go - Just let me know when the green flag drops.
Thanks Again!

O&N, you might be able to get it painted locally for about the same.
FWIW, the paint shop that I deal with, only requires having the fuel cap door to match the paint. This way I don't have to worry about any unfortunate accidents happening to my shark. Ask around, I think this is a SOP for most paint shops and paint suppliers.

Drew -
The COD idea is not going to work with the manufacturer's comment that he needs the money up front for the group buy. I understand that he has sent COD out before, but that is on one purchase for one item.
I did not call him yesterday, but I will today.

Okay, spoke to the gentleman there. He is ready and waiting for the money and names/addresses. Payment must be made in full before production, and he will "bust ***" in his words to pop those things out, and get them out ASAP. He informed me that to make it easier, he can use fredex ground with "frieght collect", which obviously, is that you pay for shipping when you recieve the box.
Seems pretty straight forward to me, and now I just have to set up a situation so that I can take everyone's money, or even better - everyone send me a cashiers check or money order for 150.00, and I then go down there and present the money...
We could use paypal for this, but I have to clear out paypal of my normal funds first. I will post again when I get the exact paypal charge. I think its 3%.

Wow! Nice work.
I would prefer to do PayPal and would (of course) be happy to pay your costs.
Just let us know exactly how you want it done and I'll hold up my end.
Thanks, Brendan!
