Default Cleaning AC/Vent System

Hello,
I recently bought a 1987 S4.
Now I'm in the middle of cleaning and detailing the interior. Despite the fact the the interior is really in a great shape (everything looks almost like new), there is this smell and I want to get ridge of it.
I cleaned all the interior and the carpets. It's much better, but I also want to clean/desinfect the AC/vent system.
I bought a spay that needs to be sprayed into the intake of the AC/vent System. Has anybody done this already? What was the result and where is actually the intake.
Thanks for your comments.

That was quick! Thanks!
Since I am a no-mechanic....is a a foto where the intake is located - where I need to spay the stuff?
Thanks and best regards

Pop your hood and by the windshield is a plastic "cowl" cover. Pull it and on the passenger side you will find the blower motor (semi-circular) and a rubber boot. Pull the boot aside and this will give you some access to the evaporator. Which is where all the gunk accumulates. You will want a flash light to see inside as it is a tight fit.

Post your results on the forum that Sean gave you about cleaning the evaporator. More information in one spot is better than in two.

So this can be done without removing the hood? If so I'll look into doing mine this weekend as well.
