to do anything with CIS you really need the two fuel pressure gauges to measure system pressure and control pressure... you are chasing a problem which the prior owner failed to resolve.
You might try pushing down on the disc that floats in the air column with fuel pump jumpered (briefly) to see if you can hear fuel going through the injectors.
I am guessing your control pressure is way off keeping the metering plunger from moving..the Delorean I helped start after 20 years had that problem then the fuel dist seized up

Thanks James,i pushed down on the disk,i could something ,but didn't sound like strong fuel pressure,I don't own a set of Gauges, and local parts stores gauges appear to be for American cars(fittings won't fit the cis)I would have to try and rig something up.Thanks mike

Post your location and somebody near you may be able to help, or have the gauge set. If you buy one from other than the mentioned vendors, make certain it works with Bosch CIS so it will have all the fittings etc.
BTW I hate to hear it, but get it all the time from sellers, it starts with starting fluid, tells you almost nothing useful as the spark might even be weak and still work on starting fluid.

Contact Roger Tyson @ 928sRus and ask to buy a set of "Morehouse CD's". The 3 CD set compiled by Jim Morehouse has just about every piece of technical info Porsche produced for the 928 including a complete factory Workshop Manual, all the annual Service Updates, and troubleshooting guides for the major systems. Unless you are going to pay someone else to work on the car you will not survive without these CD's.
