RPetty2.

He did say he was a little sore after the crash but wasn't injured.

Never did hear details of exactly what happened.

He hasn't been around here much lately. I can only assume there was a costly lesson learned.

I hope he comes back. Hopefully with some humility and an increased level of maturity.

He seemed like a decent kid but some of his early posts were filled with hilariously absurd cockiness.

You know what they say: Hire a teenager while they still know it all.

The car survived quite well actually, the rebuilt engine is fine and still runs. The car is currently being parted out, lots and lots of $$$$ were spent on this car, inlcuding new carpet kit and the interior was totally redone (seats, doors, 1/4 panel etc).... Its all for sale. Car is an early 87 so it should have the squirter block and does have a folding rear wing. The engine was totally rebuilt by CT Automotive and only had maybe 1000 miles on it when this happened.

If you are interested in any parts let me know and I will forward it to Rick Sr or PM Rick on here.

928 did its job, a fuse for driver error. Shame to part a nice car, better to "port" it to good chassis. I guess parting it out though is just putting all the good parts into several other cars.

Are you NorCal guys going to pick the bones clean, or cherry pick a few and send it to partshaven?

Default motor still good?

Wow I would think that motor is FUBAR
it had to be pushed back. Cast aluminum does not bend.

nope.....didn't touch it....the radiator took the brunt of the hit....engine still starts and runs, the lower pulley's barely cleared the smashed radiator

Ya..motor is fine...so that squashes the "I was doing 80" thing.

Its the kind of handling lesson that caused this..that you wanna do in a miata at 1/2 the speed and with 1/10th of the energy, and drive away from all the wiser.

Hes fine, motor works..parts for sale.

Nobody missed it - it's just a little late to rub it in....

If you put 'understeer' in an anagram generator you get 'serene turd'. So, is this what happens as a result? A small price to pay, I suppose, for coming out alive.

from the guys posts (unless he changed his tune while I was away) I can absolutely see this happening....he seemed to not be good at taking advise...

I feel for the kid, and dad who was writing the checks. Hopefully it was a good life lesson...

Is there some deep seated significance to the fact that if you feed 'Rennlist Discussion Forums' into an anagram generator, it comes back with 'Declining Sirs' Nuts Porous'?

That doesn't look like 80. Looks more like a direct hit at about 45-55.
