Thanks for the input! That's kind of where I was at...

^+1 The one thing I would be concerned about is its location, so I would want someone to look at it carefully for rust. If you haven't lived up there you cannot imagine what a problem it is - there are large salt mines in the area, so it is used prolifically on the roads. I know the owner claims it was not driven in the winter, but it's still important to check this out.

A/C blows cold.

Minor random electrical gremlins (right now the antenna won't go up when the radio is turned on).

Muffler is shot (exhaust = unknown).

Has not been driven in winter by this owner (2006), doubtful for the owner prior. First owner, unknown.

Got a handshake on $4,500, contingent on everything being as-described.

Considering how forthcoming he was with pics and info, and that he's a fellow Soldier, I'm confident there are no surprises.

I think I got a good one. (*knock on wood*)

A good one? Depends on how you define good. You got a good project, for sure. No surprises? Until you go through every inch of this car, there will always be surprises. Anyone who tells you different is smoking crack or just won the lottery. All said, I hope it works out well for you.

I will echo what AO said about surprises. My 82 5 speed was in excellent shape when I bought her in April with 82K and it has been nothing but surprises since. I would budget for double what you are now and hopefully you will be pleasantly surprised later. Hopefully mine will be 95% done next week. Of course it will never be 100%!
