Coolant Flow

Am I correct when I state that the coolant is brought in at the bowl at the top of the engine from the radiator hose that is directed towards the bottom of the radiator on the driver's side.
And that then it is drawn in by the pump, pushed around the front of each side of the engine at the cylinder level, flowing to the back of the engine and coming up the coolant passages opened in the head gasket, and flowing into the heads, and then the heads have the coolant flowing forward, to the two front exits where the coolant console sits.
From there the coolant exits the heads into the console and flows into the top of the radiator where it continues the circuit.
How does the heater hose come into play other than a secondary circuit bleeding off flow into the core and back out into the coolant tank -
And how is this interacting with the smaller coolant hose at the front coolant console which flows into the passender side coolant pipe that also goes into the tank?
Would it not be beneficial to run coolant out of the radiator into the heads first, (possibly at the back) and then down into the cylinders after cooling the heads, and then into the radiator?
Has anyone read any technical papers on what manufacturers are doing in modern cars? Is there a problem with cooler coolant into the heads first? Uneven cooling and heating and warp and cause headgasket issues - I know that.

Meaning my words are not good enough to paint the picture?
I haven't looked yet - is there a coolant flow diagram in the tech specs anywhere? WSM?
