Question Going for Chrome wrap on my 928...Chrome paint picture ??

Hi All

I am thinking of having my 928 wrapped in a Chrome wrap....

I seem to remember around 7 or 8 years ago that a big US paint company did a 928 in a Chrome paint ...I think ??

Anyone remember it or have any pictures of it please ?

All the best Brett

Hi

Its a matter of personal choice...lol

My 928 badly needs a respray anyway, and I have always wondered what it would look like in Chrome...so if the wrap looks terrible, then I will get it taken off and the respray done.....

If on the other hand, it looks great (to me).. then I can always have the spray done in Chrome, which is why I wanted pictures of the one the paint company did.... (Dupont maybe ?)

All the best Brett

Hi

Thanks for that video.... hate the rear wheels though, and is that some sort of 4 barrel carb on a 4.5 16 valve ?

All the best Brett

The Chrome and Gold, scratch very easily, even during the installation, you will need to be extra careful with it.

edit: this was at a get together where our 928's were invited and several showed, not pictured here

Brent, Have you ever thought what looking at a chrome hood will be like when your driving towards the sun or even at night when some nice new HID lights glare at you.

Hi Mac

I appreciate the point but I do not think it will affect me, with the natural slope downwards of the 928 bonnet.....I could be wrong of course....

The guy who did the car in the video... Worst case of AADD I have ever seen! LOL!

Hrmmm, ok lemme grind the hatch... now what, hrmmm lemme chrome the door. Oh yeah! carbs on the intake... now chrome the corner while I'm here...ummm OK, now red mirrors on the chrome door. Note to self: Chrome mirrors after putting rims on the back. If my math is correct, I can correct too much positive offset with massive spacers. Yeah looking good! Time to take a video!

Hi

Well if I do it... it will look a lot better than that (I hope )

I am having a Pro do it.... he is coming to look at the car in the next week or two, after he has priced up the Chrome wrapping film....

I have seen that butchered 928 in all the vids and i have to say it is the ugliest and most tasteless excursion in mods for a 928 i have ever seen. Yeah lets slap a carb on a car that was optimized and produces the most power with EFI, lets downgrade to a carb...
