Instrument bolt length?
Can anyone tell me the proper length for the two bolts that go thru the gauges on the sides and connect into the pod? I looked at PET
and the manual, all I can figure out is that the size is 6 x 100 but something tells me that the lengths are not the same from side to side.
The PO that screw mine together years ago used the wrong bolts and I am trying to correct it.

side A shoulder to tip 98.5mm
side B shoulder to tip 94.5mm
So I'd say 95mm and 100mm, although it's entirely possible mine have been mixed up sometime in the last 30 years too

The PO had standard bolts with about 10 washers in each and the 3rd bolt (really short bolt ) was so buggered up it took a few tricks to get it out. Why do people do this?

Never time to do it right, always time to do it again.

Last winter I replaced the odo gear and noticed that PO didn't reinstall the cluster bracket. The short bolt and one of the cluster bushing were also missing. I contacted 928 intl and they send me the missing parts. The short bolt was a M6 x 60.
In this picture, the bolt which goes through both bushing is a M6 x 100, but the bolt holding the bracket to the steering column (red arrow) is the M6 X 60.
Here you can see the M6 X100 and M6 x 60 side by side
Hope this helps
