Default Front seats

Can the front seats from a '84-older 928 fit in the '85-newer 928? I think the mounting is the same, but the wiring will definitely be different. The biggest issue is the seat belt mounting. The seat belts mount on the seat in the '85-newer and in the trans tunnel on the '84-older. Does anyone know if Porsche left the seat belt recepticles in the newer cars? The car I am looking at is a '85 and I have a set of seats the correct color from a '83, but not sure they will work. The seats I have for the '85 are white that have been dyed several times chocolate and the dye job just doesn't last.

mounting the seats is the same... but that is a good question on the seat belt mounting holes. my guess is no.

Saw a woman on a plane a few weeks ago with exactly that shirt! Wife was with me, rolled her eyes.

I think there are fitment/safety issues putting early seats in a 84+ cars. The seat belts are only part of the issue. I remember asking this same question.

LOL - I never noticed it before now either. Just assumed she was doing a T-rex imitation.

So what was exactly the problem with the older seats?

I want to replace my auto seats with manual soon.

It has to do with bolt integrity. Here is a good thread on the subject.

Interesting, I will have to double check how old the seats that I got (I think mine didn't come with the bolts so it might be a moot point being I need to buy bolts and washers anyway)
