Default Intermittent radiator leak

Hi,
Like the title says, I noticed a pretty fast coolant leak from the front passenger side of my belly tray. It was dripping maybe one drop per second. I put the car up on stands, pulled the belly tray, and I see coolant at the passenger side end tank seal, but no dripping. I have looked at all the hoses, the front of the engine, and everywhere I can see. All I see is coolant at the bottom of the PS end tank seam.
AFAIK the radiator is original, and has never been resealed before. What would you guys do? I am considering:
1. do nothing, but keep an eye on it
2. pull radiator and replace both end tanks with parts from Roger.
3. Find out how much a new radiator costs, and consider replacement.
Thanks,
Dave

Hi again,
I heat cycled the car three times today and cannot get it to leak again. Pulling the radiator/end tanks entails some risk. I am tempted to just drive the car and watch for coolant loss.
Is it common for these end tanks to leak then stop?
Thanks,
Dave

from your info the PS tank has failed they crack at the flange along the top of the radiator you can buy a new tank and have it installed.

NOTE if the leak does get worse the coolant system should still function but it will be less than optimal

NOTE also check the top hose clamp if it is loose then this could also be a leak point

Thanks Stan,
I think I must know the PS tank seal has failed. I think its not leaking is me imagining that it will fix itself. I have ordered the new tanks from Roger and will either have the repair done or repair it myself.
Thanks,
Dave

OK, I'm on line for end tank replacement. Should I do both sides, or only the side that is leaking (PS)?
Thanks,
Dave

I tried to put new gaskets in my end caps... Um... I ended up buying a new radiator. Mine was seeping like your and would do it on and off. I didnt want to take the chance of it letting loose on a long trip so I chose to try to repair and failed....so it got a new one

I called around and found a rad shop that has the correct tools for swapping tanks, cost 75.00 to replace the right tank.
I took him the tank, O ring and the he supplied the cooler O rings. no leakes yet.

FWIW I would only replace the right side tank as that tank sees the most heat.

NOTE since there is no provision for escaping air,
an airpocket forms and this isnt cooled as well as having coolant touching the tanks,
so the flange gets brittle and cracks at the top of the swages

+1 on this, I replace only the Right side 4 years ago and never had an issue with the left.

OK Guys. I revised my order with Roger to replace the right side tank only.
Thanks for the advice,
Dave

make sure to order 2 new drain plugs,
and 2 new bleeder tips for the driver side tank,
keep one bleeder and one drain plug in the car,
use the other two for the radiator after its repaired
Why because the parts are 25 yo and it doesnt take much to pop the head off of either of these parts,
once they fail you will be stuck
