Default 5 Point Harness Anchor Points?

I'm pretty shocked that an hour of online research has revealed an amazing array of answers to this question: where do you bolt down the anchor points for 5 point racing harnesses?

I've got a Devek 1/2 cage in now, as well as racing seats, and a set of 5 point harnesses ready to go. The shoulder belts wel attach to the bar, but the lower three belts need to anchor somewhere.

So, for you racers out there, where did you drop anchors? Thanks!

Mike

Hey Mel, I ended up drilling some holes in the floor and transmission/TT tunnel. I think I posted pics in my Kraken thread. The key one is the location of the hole for the crotch belt, as to drill there comes mighty close to fuel and brake lines on both sides. Yikes!

I'm out of town right now but otherwise I'd find the pics for ya. Hopefully they're on that thread. If not let me know and I'll dig them up.

And if you want to be able to still use your stock shoulder harness, remember to pull the receiver from your stock seats!

You should be able to screw an anchor into the stock seatbelt threads on the outside. That covers one of them. The other two will have to be re-enforced holes in the pan.

wouldn't it be possible to fabricate a bar that bolts under the front of the seat rails instead of drilling additional holes in the floor pan?

http://www.bkauto.com/R_9035_Sub_Str...t_p/r-9035.htm

Mounting lap belts on the inside:

Seat mounts with built in lap belt mount for outside:

Someone needs to tell these guys the 944/911 from pre-89 share the same floor seat mount as the 928 so they can update their website to simplify things.

On that note, really should be installing 6-point harness. They are significantly safer and more comfortable than 5-points.

YMMV - Check local listings......

wow those BK prices aren't giving em away, $80 for that one little bracket. Question, does an S4 have an outside seatbelt bracket mounting point already on the car, that I can't seem to see anywhere on my '85?
