Default Rookie question about air filters.

All

On the side of my air filter, there's a bunch of arrows on one side. Does these represent the direction where the air filter should be mounted (ie this side up) or the direction of the air flow (in which case it would be this side down).

This is for an 88 S4.

Thanks

There have been postings of arrows being mislabeled.
Always dome side up.

Actually any OE paper filter, doesn't have to be stock, should do. The 996 crowd is starting to figure this out now days too.

OE (Original Equipment) = stock.

It doesn't have to be in a Porsche box, but it should be of the OE/stock design.

Don't be confusing the OP now Imo...

OE = Original Equipment = Porsche Labled
OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer = Correct stock part with no Porsche label

Dome side up.

I couldn't think of anything that wouldn't have been changed to 'streck' by the Rennlist auto-censor.
