I do like the center console that houses the cameras. Would be a great place to put a boost gauge, oil temp gauge and afr gauge. The little digital rectagular one that victor did for me is great in the ashtray but putting three of them up top and changing their programming so they look like period analog style gauges would be pretty cool. Couple this with Hans's climate control module, make the center console flush and then I could pull out the 7" flip screen dvd player and put a double din porsche unit (or similar looking) one in and get what I am trying to get. Like an Aston center console.

I remember watching this happen in real time on this forum.... Not quite like watching a train wreck in slow motion, but you know what's gonna happen: huge dollars invested, unsolved issues, lost interest, no market, huge loss, new owner with no clue, parked out in the open and left sit, etc. Only a matter of time till it finds its way to Mark. The only good news is that it started the process as a pretty high mile car anyway.

The guy is delusional at best ....saying it would smog in California, Yea right . The guy who had it built was on rennlist years ago. I guess it seemed like a good idea to him at the time.

I think it looks pretty nice, but yes, wouldnt smog be an issue?? how do they handle hybrid engine transplants? nothing would match the 928 smog spec. right down to that gas cap!

California you can "update" engines but EVERYTHING must be in compliance with the car it comes out of must meet the standards of the car it was originally fitted in. You can never back date engines. You get sent to the state smog referee and they do a very complete inspection and if satisfied put a BAR sticker in the door jamb. Then it can be registered.

Its Malibu's car - lots of threads here from when he was building it (maybe 10 years ago?).

Three Wheelin'
To the original question, for me it is a Freak Show. But I do admire anyone who would dedicate that much time and energy (and $) to make their own one of a kind 'dream car'.
