Battery hold down part
Anyone have one on hand? I need one for my car as it would seem mine has disappeared and they are no longer available. Found that my battery is bouncing up and making a contact to the battery cover. Bad deal.
If ya got one I'm buying.
Thanks.

Part # is now 928 611 209 02 GRV - Mark lists them used for $30. Did you see what he's got in stock?
EDIT: Still listed on the 1/13 Retail pricing list for $61.07. Yow.

First PCA autocross I ever went to, the tech tried to ding me for not having a battery hold-down. So I asked him to try to move the battery. Problem solved.

Yes, good to know where that thing fits at last ! My battery also has its + pole cable connection covered, so it cant short anyway. Using the 88Ah battery doesnt leave much room to move anyway.

I didn't call Mark A but was told he was out of them as they are rare as hens teeth so I posted here hoping someone could help me out on it. Ed, If you have one I'd love to buy it from ya.

Hi,
I contacted these guys and they had one:
http://www.retroautomotiveproducts.com/
They mainly focus on 911s, but they bought out a 928 specialty shop and have some parts in stock. I ended up getting my battery holder from Mark, but after looking around they contacted me with a photo of the correct part. They might be a viable source, but I think you might need to be a little patient as they research their parts since they don't really specialize in the 928.

^^^^ better to fit the correct plastic cover to the hot post or tie a piece of inner tube to the Hot terminal,
and wedge a small piece of wood behind the battery so it wont slide front to back,
and then get the correct hold down bracket
