Default looking for help in Perth Australia

I have a first time customer in Perth that apparently used a stolen credit card to purchase a new 1989 GT EZK 928 618 124 16.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Perth is supposed to be the most remote capital city in the world so a good location to hide away. There are some honest people here though.

Remote but with a low population, and a tiny 928 population!

Sad that people do this.

The 928 ownership world is small enough over here for it to be likely, that with a bit of detective work by owners over here, you can get a result. It's difficult to own or get around unnoticed in a 928.

Hope you get a speedy outcome Mark.

Thanks everyone but I'm guessing it was not a 928 owner. How many people have actually had an EZK go bad?

Indeed!

Still its always possible this is a mistake, communication issue - card details confused, car stolen just after order placed etc... still hoping for a good outcome here...

928 owners are mostly a good bunch...

Mark,

When did you last sell an EZK unit? In my 13 years of being in the 928 fraternity I have never read of an EZ failure - doubtless it happens but not very often. I think I have 3 of the little buggers all working with a layer of dust on two of them [and probably on the installed one]. Let's hope the dumb sh*t ordered the wrong one- so you chaps in Perth/Down under be on the look out for a shmuck trying to sell an EZ masquerading as an LH unit!

One cannot fault your desire/tenacity to get owners out of the mire but if you are approached by someone you have never dealt with previously on the other side of the world I do not think anyone would think any less of you for ensuring your payment is cleared before dispatching a shed load of goods or is it one of those things that takes for ever before you get to know the score? -apologies if I am missing something here but it really burns me when I hear of decent folks being shafted by crooks. Presumably you have a dispatch address or was that bogus somehow?

Not sure how you sent it but over here when I pick up something from international couriers they ask for one's ID card [yes- I have to carry one and it really is not an imposition - indeed I would vote for it were I in the UK]. They may not stop crime but it sure would make life a lot more difficult for these crooks I reckon.

Anybody know the rate for a couple of re-arranged limbs in Perth these days?- I'd happily chip into a "goodwill pot". Maybe we can send round "Norm" with a few boys? If the street address is known [unlikely?] maybe one of the local lads can cruise past and take a peek to see if there are any signs of a 928 of appropriate vintage.

If a courier company was used would they and security footage of the chump collecting it?

On a more serious note- is it possible for someone other than the NSA to track down a location from the IP address? -anyone got any "good connections" in the NSA other than Snowden?

That's me just about out of thoughts on this one.

Either way- hope Mark gets a good result.

Regards

Fred

It struck me as strange that it was not only an EZK but also a GT, because over here there aren't many. There were only four 89 GT's delivered in Australia and I would think that those owners are probably known to many in the community here, so I'd think it unlikely that it would be one of those ... perhaps it's a Jap import ... or ??
